Janet is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Texas, Louisiana, Arizona, and Colorado, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington.  She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Board Certified in Biofeedback, and a National Certified Counselor.

Her counseling background includes both inpatient and outpatient work with clients suffering from trauma and chronic pain, complex post-traumatic stress, vagal events, depression, anxiety, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).  Specializing in the treatment of military members and their families, she utilizes biofeedback and neurofeedback with appropriate clients, specifically targeting an over- or under-active nervous system with counseling and biofeedback training, and addressing ADHD with counseling and neurofeedback training.

Her therapeutic approach is from an interpersonal neurobiological perspective, integrating multiple modalities to create a unique treatment for each individual and incorporating concepts from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), art therapy, somatic experiencing, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).  She is active in the community, previously volunteering at the Pool of Siloam free medical clinic and with the Rock-A-Baby program at LSU-Health Sciences Center, giving numerous presentations on subjects ranging from developmental neuropsychology to the implementation of biofeedback in clinical counseling, and maintaining active membership in both the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War.
